Solvents health effects
There are a lot of things these days that can affect your health in a good or bad way. But even the things that are supposed to do you good can harm you if they are taken, used or if you are exposed to them for a long time. For example, staying in the sun can be really healthy as long as you don't stay to long exposed to it. If you do, then you might develop skin cancer that's a really bad thing to get only because you wanted the perfect tan. Some other things that can harm you are all sorts of solvents. These are chemical compounds that are used in all sorts of industries but mainly in the heavy industries like chemical ore purification facilities. You can get health problems not from necessarily touching the solvent but from inhaling the fumes that it produces. Here are some health effects induced by solvents.
When it comes to solvents, you might think that your life cannot be put in danger only if you ingest or if you touch that certain solvent in cause but you are wrong. Solvents can cause a lot of damage to your health even if you don't really work with them. If you work in a factory or other such place where other people work with solvents then your health can be put at risk. You don't even have to touch it all you have to do is inhale the fumes that are generated by them. As their name suggests it, these solvents are used to dissolve certain materials and in the process of dissolving one material certain fumes and gases are released. These gases and fumes are very dangerous for ones health because solvents are made mainly from all sorts of acids that release harmful gases even on their own. If you add the combined gases of a solvent alone and the one generated from the process of dissolving a material, you may end up with a very dangerous gas which, if it is inhaled, can even burn your lungs. If you are fortunate enough not to get your lungs burned, you may evolve lung cancer over time. In any case, solvents have a very harmful effect on the human body and should be avoided as much as possible.
So, here are some of the health hazards that may occur from staying near or if working with solvents. As mentioned above, these solvents should be avoided as much as possible.
